MissionOur mission is to ensure Manitoba children with autism spectrum disorder have access to effective autism treatment.

Target Population and Geographic Area Served
- We assist Manitoba parents and professionals who care for preschool and school-aged children diagnosed autism. Teachers, teacher's aides, paediatricians, developmental specialists, and social workers would be among the professionals included.
Autism spectrum disorder, commonly known as autism, is a neurological disorder affecting one in 500 individuals. The cause is not known. Symptoms first appear around 18 months of age. Specific symptoms vary from one individual to another, but always include severe developmental delays in communication and social skills. Untreated, most individuals with autism will require a lifetime of supervision and care.

An Incorporated Registered CharityManitoba Families for Effective Autism Treatment (MFEAT) was incorporated in Manitoba on May 1, 1997. MFEAT is a non-profit, registered charity. Our registered charity number is 88621 8858 RR0001.
